David Beckmann claimed his maiden win in GP3 after a clinical display of driving in tricky conditions at a cold and damp Spa-Francorchamps.
Beckmann launched away from the grid, getting the best start out of anybody, while his rivals appeared to struggle off the line, and he quickly opened a buffer over the chasing pack.
Trident team-mate Ryan Tveter made an astonishing start from eighth on the grid and launched into second place at the first corner with clinical precision.
Tveter attempted to chase down his team-mate for the race lead but while doing so using DRS on the Kemmel straight, he lost the rear of the car in the braking zone on the damp track and had to take to the escape road at Les Combes.
ART's Anthoine Hubert extended his championship lead once again after a clawing his way back to third place, via the fastest lap, after making an awful getaway from his damp grid slot.
Pedro Piquet ended the race in fourth place after making a pass on Russia's Nikita Mazepin in the later stages of the race, making it a Trident 1-2-4 result for the Italian team.
Ferrari-backed Callum Ilott managed to beat his fellow ART team-mate and compatriot Jake Hughes to sixth place in the dying stages of the race, though lost further ground to Hubert in the title scrap.
Australia's Joey Mawson had to settle for eighth after trying to get involved in the battle with Ilott and Hughes in front of him but was unable to close down the gap, instead, he had to fend off Trident's Giuliano Alesi, who was trying snatch away reverse grid pole for Sunday's sprint race.
Tatiana Calderon continued her good run of form to score another point after snatching 10th place on the final lap of the race from Jenzer team-mate Juan Manuel Correa after losing positions at the start.
