Toyota claimed a third consecutive World Endurance Championship pole position and a front-row lock-out for this weekend's 6 Hours of Silverstone.

The #7 TS050 Hybrid driven by Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi will line-up in the number one slot for Sunday's race after pipping the sister LMP1 by just over four-tenths.

Conway and Lopez set an average lap time of 1:36.895, compared to Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso's 1:37.306 effort in the #8 car. It would have been tighter had Nakajima not had one of his quickest laps deleted over abusing track limits.

Third-place went to SMP Racing's #11 machine piloted by Jenson Button and Vitaly Petrov. The former F1 pair were two seconds adrift of the Toyota cars despite efforts to equalise performance. The sister car will start fourth, completing the second-row of the grid.

The Rebellion entries were fifth and sixth ahead of the DragonSpeed and ByKolles cars.

LMP2 class pole went to Jackie Chan DC Racing's #37 car, whilst the second of its Oreca 07 Gibsons starts alongside it in second, qualifying just 0.187s down.

The session saw a brief five-minute red flag as Frits van Eerd’s Racing Team Nederland car was recovered from the gravel at Copse.

Full qualifying results can be found here.
