Marco Bezzecchi took victory in the Austrian Grand Prix to extend his Moto3 points lead, while Enea Bastianini and the injured Jorge Martin snatched the final podium places.
Bezzecchi took the holeshot into Turn 1 off the line, while Albert Arenas, Martin and Gabriel Rodrigo slotted in behind.
Martin seized second from Arenas on the run up the hill into Turn 3, though would lose the place on lap four in fell swoop by Rodrigo and Arenas at the same corner.
This allowed Bezzecchi to open up an advantage of six tenths aboard his Prustel GP KTM, while the top four were 1.3s clear of the chasing pack.
Jaume Masia was able to close down the leaders once at the front of the second group, and dragged Lorenzo Dalla Porta along with him, though the Leopard rider dropped out of contention after making a mistake under braking for Turn 4.
Several mistakes from Rodrigo also saw him fall out of victory contention, keeping the lead group at four, with Masia leading the charge against Bezzecchi by lap 10.
Masia, Martin and Arenas continued to debate the runner-up spot into the closing stages of the race, allowing Bezzecchi to open up a more comfortable margin of seven tenths.
However, Bezzecchi was reeled in once more, and Martin made a play for the lead at Turn 3 with three laps remaining.
Bezzecchi used the grunt of the KTM to draw level with the Gresini rider down into Turn 4, and carved up the inside to retake the lead at Turn 5.
Behind, Bastianini had risen from outside of the points in the opening laps to challenge for the podium, scything past Martin – who had just relinquished second to Masia – at Turn 6.
The battling behind allowed Bezzecchi to take the chequered flag unopposed to take his second win of the season, while Bastianini and Martin mugged Masia at the final two corners to complete the rostrum.
Masia ran off track exiting the final corner when Martin passed him, prompting an investigation from Race Direction. No action was taken, and Masia had to settle for sixth behind Arenas and Dalla Porta.
Ayumu Sasaki crossed the line in seventh ahead of Rodrigo, Tony Arbolino and Aron Canet, while Brno race winnder Fabio Di Giannantonio was a lowly 11th, with John McPhee 12th having started from last.
Bezzecchi's victory now puts him 12 points clear of the returning Martin in the standings. Andrea Migno was the only retirement from the race, the Nieto rider crashing at Turn 10 on lap 12.
