Williams’ Lance Stroll is set to start the Hungarian Grand Prix from the pit lane after the team was forced to undertake a change of the front wing/nose assembly area.
Stroll made it through to Q2 but spun out of Turn 9 in wet conditions and damaged the front end of the car, going on to qualify in 15th position.
Williams has recently introduced a new front wing but Stroll’s crash means a different specification has had to be fitted to his FW41 for the race.
With the front wing and nose assembly area different to the version used in qualifying, with changes also made to the set-up of the suspension, Stroll will now be required to start from the pit lane.
It marks the second time in three events that Stroll has had to start from the pit lane, after the rear-wing DRS-related stall issues Williams encountered in Britain.
Those who qualified behind Stroll will therefore each move up a spot on the starting grid.
