The #8 Toyota currently holds the lead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the six hour mark with Sebastien Buemi and Fernando Alonso having completed their first stints behind the wheel. Kazuki Nakajima has now taken over the reigns for the first evening stint.
The #8 holds a narrow lead over the sister Toyota with Kamui Kobayashi at the wheel, with just over a second splitting them. However the #7 led briefly at one point with Alonso regaining the lead during his opening stint.
The path so far hasn't been drama free for Toyota with both cars sustaining punctures in the opening six hours.
The race has so far seen two safety car periods with the first a result of a puncture for Gabriel Aubry's #38 Jota which shed some bodywork which littered the circuit.
The most dramatic came when the #4 ByKolles crashed out at Corvette Corner having made contact with the #80 Ebimotors Porsche.
The #17 SMP Racing holds third behind the Toyota duo withba deficit of two laps.
In LMP2, the #26 G-Drive ORECA holds the lead from the #48 IDEC Sport car and opened up a healthy lead which currently stands at more than a lap.
As in qualifying, the Porsche cars are dominating the GTE Pro class with the #92 car leading from the #93, albeit with a mammoth one minute lead. The #91 Porsche GT Team car sits third followed by the #68 Ford GT.
It's a similar story in the GTE Am field with the #77 Dempsey-Proton Racing car leading.
The #11 SMP Racing LMP1 with Jenson Button at the wheel is at the rear of the field having experienced early issues which meant the car was sat in the garage for hours.
