After what has been a tough European leg of Season Four, MS&AD Andretti Formula E are targeting a strong points finish at this weekend's inaugural Zurich E-Prix.
After nine races so far this season, Andretti have only secured 20 points which leaves the outfit propping up the Teams' Championship in 10th place, with Dragon Racing overtaking the team in the standings after a double points finish at the Punta del Este E-Prix.
Heading to Switzerland this weekend, Andretti remain optimistic before Formula E heads to New York for the Season Four finale next month.
"The MS&AD Andretti team heads to the lakefront location in Zurich, for the last part of the European season and what will be a historic moment in Swiss motor racing history – the first motor race held in the country since 1955," said Roger Griffiths, co-team principal of Andretti Formula E.
"While all races are important to the team, this one is of particular relevance for all our partners. MS&AD, TE Connectivity and BMW (with Julius Baer) all have deep connections to Zurich.
"The last three rounds in Europe have been challenging for the team but there is a lot of optimism that we can turn this run of bad luck around and come away with a good points-scoring result in front of the Swiss fans.
"The track here in Zurich is likely to post the highest top speeds we have seen all season and the engineering team has been focusing on how to extract the most from the car on this type of track.
"It will be an interesting combination of some very high speed straights, tight corners and unique roadways," he added.
For Antonio Felix da Costa, a points finish is the only thing that matters as the Portuguese driver aims to return to the top 10 for the first time since the Mexico City E-Prix:
"This is another new track and new country for Formula E this season, which is always great to see and a new challenge," he said.
"The track looks tricky – very twisty and tight, with two long straights, which will make it good for racing. I'm looking forward to getting the MS&AD Andretti team back into the points as we reach the last part of the season."
Stephane Sarrazin, who is still on a learning curve with Andretti after joining the team at the Berlin E-Prix as a replacement for Tom Blomqvist, heads to Zurich more prepared than he was at last month's race at the Flughafen Tempelhof circuit:
"I am really excited to go to my second race with the MS&AD Andretti team. I learned a lot in Berlin and we have done some good simulator sessions leading into Zurich," he said.
"The track is more of a typical Formula E track, being very narrow and more tricky than Berlin. We will give our best and look to score big points."
