MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix podium finisher Johann Zarco topped the post-race Jerez test on Monday ahead of Cal Crutchlow.
All except the factory Ducati, Suzuki and Aprilia teams remained at Jerez for a day of testing, with the former trio set to head to Mugello later in the week for a day of running.
Jerez poleman Crutchlow led the timesheets at the end of the opening hour with a 1:38.530s from Avintia's Tito Rabat and Sunday's winner Marc Marquez.
Marquez, who evaluated three different aerodynamic fairings in preparation for next weekend's French Grand Prix at Le Mans, took over from his Honda stablemate as hour two drew to a close with a 1:38.232s, while Rabat remained close behind in second.
Tech3's Zarco, who trailed Marquez home in Sunday's dramatic Spanish Grand Prix and is now second in the championship, deposed the Honda rider with a 1:37.937s.
This stood as the benchmark until the final three hours, when the French rider improved to a 1:37.730s, which remained unchallenged through to the chequered flag as most wrapped up their programs with 90 minutes of the day left.
Crutchlow was 0.217 seconds down on Zarco in second at the end of session, with Dani Pedrosa 0.033s further back in third.
Maverick Vinales was fourth as he and his Yamaha team sought a fix for the traction problems that plagued his and team-mate Valentino Rossi's Jerez weekend.
Marquez was shuffled back to fifth by the end of the day, with Marc VDS rider Franco Morbidelli – who achieved his best result of his rookie campaign on Sunday in ninth – just 0.056s behind in sixth and ahead of Rabat.
Takaaki Nakagami, on the second LCR bike, headed Jack Miller and Rossi to complete the top 10, with Bradley Smith leading KTM team-mate Pol Espargaro, Nieto's Alvaro Bautista and the third KTM of Mika Kallio, who continued to develop the 2019 prototype RC16 he raced at Jerez.
Tom Luthi's day was cut short when he crashed during the afternoon, causing a brief halt to proceedings; the Marc VDS rider was unscathed and classified in 15th position, ahead of Avintia duo Xavier Simeon and Moto2 wildcard Xavi Cardelus.
Danilo Petrucci was present for the test, but the Pramac rider opted against running having already tested for Ducati at the circuit following the Qatar race.
Hafizh Syahrin also remained at Jerez, but the Tech3 rider was ordered to rest having aggravated the hip injury he sustained in Texas in a bicycle accident during the build up to the Jerez race.
