Reigning Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi is targeting his first win of the current campaign at this month's Berlin ePrix after taking a third podium in succession on the streets of Paris.
After looking strong in pre-season testing ahead of the start of the 2017/18 campaign, di Grassi and his Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler team endured a difficult start, with the Brazilian racer failing to score a single point until the fifth round of the season in Mexico City.
Since taking ninth place at the Mexican round of the calendar, however, di Grassi has found a return to form, finishing in second place in Punta del Este and Rome before once again emulating his performances at the Paris ePrix last weekend.
The race in the City of Lights saw di Grassi have a poor qualifying performance, getting knocked out of Super Pole to start the race from sixth place.
Using an overcut strategy, di Grassi was able to work his way through the field, overtaking Venturi's Maro Engel, DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird and Techeetah driver Andre Lotterer to stand on the second step of the podium.
“I had another good run. It was a shame about qualifying, as I missed super pole by five-thousandths of a second and it was super tight," said di Grassi post-race.
"In my first stint I took a conservative approach, I did two laps more than the leaders.
"I tried to catch-up when Andre [Lotterer] overtook Sam [Bird] and used that opportunity to pass him – but I saw he was overconsuming on every lap in front of me, so I knew he was going to have to lift a lot or he was going to run out of energy."
Looking ahead to the ninth round of the all-electric single seater series, di Grassi revealed that he is targeting his first win of Season Four on what would be on Audi's home ground:
"It’s my 23rd podium in Formula E – I’m super happy to be on the podium again and scoring points in every single race after the car was fixed. So we have to move up and win our home race for Audi in a couple of weeks,” he added.
With four races remaining this season, di Grassi sits in sixth in the Drivers' Championship, tied on 56 points with his team-mate Daniel Abt.
Audi currently sit in third in the Teams' Championship, having overtaken Renault e.dams, Jaguar Racing and Mahindra Racing in the last two events.
