Jaguar has confirmed that its I-Pace eTrophy car will make its public debut in a demonstration run at the Berlin ePrix on May 19.
In September 2017 it was announced that Jaguar's new I-Pace will be joining Formula E for the Season Five calendar, where it will make its racing debut as a support series for the all-electric single seater championship.
Although a driver has not yet been announced, the demonstration run will take place on the Tempelhof circuit following a successful shakedown at Jaguar's Warwickshire facilities and a tyre test with Michelin in Ladoux, France.
It was also confirmed that Jaguar will be working with British firm M-Sport for its race operations while Williams Advanced Engineering will provide the vehicle control systems.
“We are excited to reveal the new Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy racecar in Berlin and demonstrate its dynamic capabilities for the first time," said James Barclay, Team Director of Jaguar Racing.
"Jaguar Racing and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) are building the key foundations for the incredibly exciting championship and we are pleased with the progress of our test and development programme, which has included a successful tyre test with our partner Michelin.
“We are really happy with the way the championship is progressing, and we are attracting more interest from teams around the world who want to be involved in this pioneering championship.
"We would also like to welcome M-Sport, who bring a wealth of experience, expertise and professionalism to the team as technical operations partner for the eTrophy,” he added.
With the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy set to commence later this year, coinciding with the start of the 2018/19 season of Formula E, it is expected that there will be 20 cars that will form the grid although a full series calendar, driver lineup and team list is yet to be confirmed.
