Mads Østberg will return to Citroën for two further gravel rallies on the back of his appearance at Rally Sweden, where he finished sixth.
The Norwegian driver will again get behind the wheel of Citroën's C3 WRC car for Rally Portugal in mid-May and Rally Italia Sardegna in June, as the French team looks to boost its squad with regulars Craig Breen and Kris Meeke.
Although Portugal will mark Østberg's first gravel rally in the C3, he previously took part in New Zealand’s Rally of Otago in a Ford Escort RS MkII earlier this month, before retiring with a suspension problem.
"It feels good to be back in the car and back with the team again after a long break since Rally Sweden," he said.
"I’ll do anything to prove that I’m worth keeping in the car after these two rallies and hopefully I’ll get back in the car later on in the season."
Previously Østberg claimed third and second-placed finishes in Portugal and Sardinia respectively in 2014, driving a DS 3 WRC.
