The famous TVR name will return to motorsport for the first time in over a decade with the announcement of a partnership with the Rebellion Racing LMP1 effort.
The small British marque, which was recently revived and unveiled its first new car in years just a handful of months ago, will become automotive partner to the World Endurance Championship team for the upcoming 'Super Season', competing in the top LMP1 class.
TVR chairman Les Edgar said of the deal: "When we resurrected the TVR brand, we knew that we wanted to achieve a return to the race track. Our partnership with Rebellion Racing allows us to achieve that goal, while bringing about valuable operational and technical knowledge, which directly transfers to our road car operation and future racing activities.
"We have a long-standing relationship with Rebellion Racing and have been following them closely in WEC over the last few years. We greatly look forward to working with the team and are confident that Rebellion Racing TVR will see much success during the Super Season."
Rebellion released images of its new livery on Thursday, having previously teased images of its new ORECA R-13 just last month at the Geneva Motor Show. The TVR-branded R-13 will make its track debut on Friday at the WEC Prologue event at Circuit Paul Ricard.
