Pramac’s Jack Miller says the Ducati is a ‘beautiful’ bike

Pramac's Jack Miller has hailed his Ducati GP17 as “beautiful” after a strong winter test period for the Australian, who switches to the Italian manufacturer this year after three years with Honda.

Miller stepped up to MotoGP in 2015 as the '14 Moto3 World Championship runner-up, signing directly with Honda to race in LCR colours on an Open class RC213V-RS, before moving to Marc VDS the following year.

Signing directly with Ducati to join the Pramac squad for '17, Miller has enjoyed a successful pre-season with the marque, ending the the final Qatar test 11th overall on his year-old Desmosedici.

Speaking at Pramac's '18 launch event in Italy on Monday, the one-time MotoGP race winner has his sights set on being a frontrunner this season.

“The bike beautiful and my feeling at the moment with the bike is amazing,” Miller said of the GP17.

“Since the first day in Malaysia we improved step-by-step, day-by-day. I enjoyed riding the bike and I'm really excited for the coming year.

“We have to get the first race out of the way, but of course we want to push and be as close to the top guys as possible each week.

“We have to start froms somewhere, we have to keep calm, keep our feet on the ground.”

Miller will partner Danilo Petrucci this season, who will once again be riding identical machinery to the factory duo of Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo.

The five-time MotoGP podium finisher admitted in January that this year would be his last with Pramac and Ducati, as he looks set to join the factory Aprilia squad.

Valentino Rossi protege and Moto2 frontrunner Francesco Bagnaia will take his compatriot's place next year, after agreeing a two year deal directly with Ducati to step up to the premier class.
