Ferrari unveils its 2018 Formula 1 car in Maranello

Ferrari has unveiled its 2018 Formula 1 challenger, the SF71-H, as it bids to end its decade-long championship drought.

Ferrari, following a win-less 2016 season, profited from overhauled technical regulations to emerge as a title force in 2017.

Sebastian Vettel claimed three wins from the opening six races as it led both Drivers’ and Teams’ standings, before Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes hit form.

Vettel triumphed only twice more across the rest of the season as its prospects were derailed by a handful of driver errors and crucial reliability setbacks.

Ferrari opted against making fundamental changes, with Vettel regularly insisting the team is on the right trajectory, as it chases its first title since the 2008 Constructors’ crown.

Vettel is entering his fourth year with Ferrari, having renewed his contract through 2020, and he will again partner Kimi Raikkonen, once more on a one-year deal.

Raikkonen ended his pole position drought in Monaco last season but a win remained elusive, and he placed fourth overall.
