Luca Ghiotto will continue to race in Formula 2 this season after netting a deal to compete for Campos, which has taken on title sponsorship from Vexatec.
Ghiotto, runner-up to Esteban Ocon in GP3 in 2015, graduated to GP2 with Trident in 2016, finishing eighth overall, before switching to Russian Time for 2017.
The Italian scored a victory on home soil in the rebranded Formula 2 category, and took an additional six podiums, en route to fourth in the standings.
Following Russian Time's exit from the series, Ghiotto will now move across to Campos for the 2018 campaign, as the team’s first signing for the new season.
“I am obviously very excited to be joining Campos Vexatec Racing,” said Ghiotto.
“Adrian Campos has the highest culture of motorsport due to his past as Formula 1 driver and the following experience as a winning Team Principal.
“This is a great opportunity for me, because Campos Racing has shown many times that it is one of the best place for a young driver to be and I intend to make the most of this opportunity, while doing the best possible job for the team.
“I would like to thanks Adrián Campos and all the team for this opportunity and I’m sure it is going to be an intense and successful season for us together.”
Ghiotto is set to be the highest-placing driver from the 2017 field to return to Formula 2, with champion Charles Leclerc joining Sauber in Formula 1, and Artem Markelov and Oliver Rowland set to move on.
