The Action Express Cadillac squad topped the timesheets on the opening day of testing for January's Daytona 24 Hours.
2017 runner up Filipe Albuquerque set the fastest lap in both sessions, with the Portuguese driver’s quickest time of 1:37.196 coming in the two-hour afternoon run.
Cadillacs dominated the morning session with the four DPi-V.R.s filling out the top four places, but the gaps closed later in the day as the CORE Autosport ORECA got to within two tenths of the outright pace.
Colin Braun submitted a time of 1:37.303s to end Friday second quickest, with defending IMSA champion Jordan Taylor slotting the Wayne Taylor Caddy into third.
Tristan Vautier (Spirit of Daytona Cadillac) and Ho-Pin Tung (Jackie Chan DC/Jota Sport ORECA) completed the top five, which covered half a second.
Two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso’s United Autosports team was 9th after two sessions, courtesy of a 1:38.170s morning effort from McLaren junior Lando Norris.
Alonso, meanwhile, managed a 1:38.602s best, placing him 29th out of the 57 drivers who set times.

In GT Le Mans, Porsche overcame Ford’s morning advantage to top the category through Laurens Vanthoor's 1:44.065s marker.
Ford GT driver Richard Westbrook had set the fastest lap during FP1, but Vanthoor responded with an afternoon time that eclipsed the #67 car’s figure by 0.030 seconds.
Porsche’s sister 911 RSR ran third, in front of the #66 Ford and the Ferrari 488 entered by Risi Competizione.
The GT Daytona category was commanded by Rolf Ineichen’s 1:47.104 during the morning run for the Grasser Racing Lamborghini squad.
Porsche junior Matteo Cairoli secured second in the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R, ahead of the sister Grasser Lamborghini Huracan driven by Max van Splunteren.
Three further test sessions are scheduled for Saturday, with the first starting at 10:50 local time (15:50 UK).
