FIA confirms final 2018 Formula 1 calendar with one change

The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has finalised the 2018 Formula 1 calendar, with one change compared to the provisional release earlier this season.

China and Bahrain will switch places, with Bahrain taking up the second round slot and China the third.

Chinese organisers hope the change, which means the race will no longer clash with the Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day, will increase spectator numbers.

The 21-race calendar, which equals the record for the most number of races in an F1 season, sees the loss of Malaysia and the return of France – which forms part of a triple-header along with Austria and Great Britain – and Germany.
