This weekend was all about tin-tops…It started off on Saturday in Austria at the Red Bull Ring where Round 8 of the 2017 DTM Series kicked off with the first race of the weekend. Then it was time for race two yesterday. Read Phillip Horton's report on how the Audi steamroller decimated the field and finally gave a win to long time points leader Matthias Ekström.
Then late last night it was time for the WeatherTech IMSA boys and girls to slug it out over two and half hours up and down the hills around Monterey in Northern California at the classic and iconic Laguna Seca Raceway. The Taylor brothers were unstoppable during qualifying, setting a time nearly a second faster than the rest of the field. But did they keep their advantage in the race? Read Daniel Lloyd's full weekend report to find out.
Group F1 Editor Joe Saward was a busy boy this week as he firstly tells us about the weird hours he kept in Singapore last week before discussing just why the new Toro Rosso/Honda 'marriage' is both good for the drinks giant and also the grid. He also ponders whether or not there is a plan for Alfa Romeo to return to the F1 paddock after being away for 30 years.
While all this was going on, our very own Rallies Editor Jerry Williams was polishing his rather dusty crystal ball when it suddenly came back to life. Read his amazing take on what he saw happening just before the start of next year's Rally Monte Carlo…
