Haas has confirmed that Antonio Giovinazzi’s rescheduled practice session will take place at Singapore next weekend, after his planned outing in Italy was abandoned.
Ferrari reserve driver Giovinazzi, who competed in the opening two races of 2017 with Sauber, in place of Pascal Wehrlein, signed up to participate in seven FP1 sessions with Haas this year.
One of those was meant to take place at Monza, but forecast inclement weather prompted the team to maximise the track time available for Kevin Magnussen, and he instead competed in the opening session.
Haas has now confirmed that Giovinazzi will instead take to the wheel of the VF-17 for the opening 90-minute session around the streets of Marina Bay next Friday, in place of Magnussen.
Giovinazzi is set for further outings in Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi, as planned.
His options for a Formula 1 race seat in 2018 appear to be receding, with Haas having already confirmed that it will field an unchanged line-up.
