Esteban Ocon blasts Sergio Perez for putting their lives at risk after clash

Force India's Esteban Ocon has accused his team-mate Sergio Perez of having a death wish after the pair clashed during the Belgian Grand Prix.

The pair came together on the opening lap and escaped damage. However later in the race Ocon drew alongside Perez as they approached Eau Rouge, but was squeezed into the wall. As a result, they made contact yet again, causing Ocon to heavily damage his front-wing, whilst the Mexican suffered a right-rear puncture.

It's not the first time the pair have made contact this season – they lost a potential double podium in Azerbaijan when they hit one another.

After the race, Ocon blasted his team-mate and said his life was put at risk "for nothing".

"I accept the first one [on the first lap]; we are three wide, maybe he didn’t see me, even if I think he saw me," explained Ocon.

"The second one is just the one too much, risking our lives for nothing, he risked my life in there at 300 km/h down by Eau Rouge, that’s the first thing.

"He’s supposed to be a professional driver, today he hasn’t shown it, he hasn’t done that with any other team-mates, I don’t know why he’s doing it with me.

"The feeling for sure is I’m going to go speak with him man to man and tell him the truth.

"He’s going to have a child, I don’t know if he wants to die or something, it’s just ridiculous."
