Marc Marquez will start the Czech Republic Grand Prix from pole position after beating Yamaha rival Valentino Rossi by a mere 0.092 of a second.

Early qualifying leader Dani Pedrosa will start third, putting two Honda bikes on the front row. The Spaniard had held provisional pole before Rossi and then Marquez improved, dropping Pedrosa to third, with just over a tenth between him and the top spot.

The second row consists of Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso, who followed his Friday performance with a strong result in qualifying to start fourth ahead of LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow and the second Ducati of Jorge Lorenzo, who had an earlier lap disallowed.

Current championship runner-up Maverick Viñales will look to make progress in the race to ensure the points gap between him and Marquez doesn't grow further, as he starts down in seventh with Pramac's Danilo Petrucci and Aspar's Alvaro Bautista for company.

Yamaha Tech 3's Johann Zarco completes the top ten, with Aleix Espargaro and Loriz Baz just making the Q2 cut in 11th and 12th. Espargaro suffered a crash in the closing minutes of the session, ending his chance of qualifying higher.

Suzuki Ecstar's Alex Rins narrowly missed out on a Q2 spot by just 0.006 and lines up in P13, just ahead the second Tech 3 rider, Jonas Folger.

The weather forecast for Sunday's race suggests mixed conditions, which could add an extra challenge and unpredictablity to the race.
