Matthieu Vaxiviere is set to make his debut in the GP3 Series at the Hungaroring this weekend as a stand-in for F2-bound Santino Ferrucci.
It was announced on Wednesday that Haas development driver Ferrucci has cut short his GP3 programme with DAMS in order to step up to Formula 2 with Trident.
As a result, DAMS was in need of a replacement, and has drafted in Vaxiviere to pilot the #14 car.
Vaxiviere will link up with Sauber-backed youngster Tatiana Calderon and Bruno Baptista at the French squad.
Vaxiviere finished runner-up in the Formula Renault 3.5 series in 2015 and has since switched to the World Endurance Championship, competing in the LMP2 division.
