McLaren clinched its first victory of the Formula 1 season on Saturday…at the annual F1 Raft Race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The event used to be an annual tradition during the Canadian GP and was resurrected this year by new owners Liberty Media and Red Bull.
Under the new rules, entrants are given 45 minutes to construct a raft, with seven team members permitted to take part.
All but three F1 teams (Ferrari, Mercedes, Force India) took part in the event, with an entrant from the FIA and two from FOM, headed up by Sean Bratches and Ross Brawn, as well as a fan-led entrant.
McLaren won the event, probably in part thanks to one of their team members, Tom Stallard, being an Olympic silver medallist rower.
The final two podium spots went to Toro Rosso and Sauber, with Haas claiming fourth.
