Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch claimed victory and the $1 million prize in the non-championship NASCAR All-Star Race exhibition event at Charlotte.
Busch made a late charge in the final, 10-lap fourth segment, making a move at the last restart to storm to his first win at the circuit.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyle Larson missed out on first place at the race for the second consecutive season, passing Jimmie Johnson late on.
Larson took victory in the first two stages, with Johnson claiming stage three. It was Brad Keselowski who led at the last restart but that was after he failed to pit, having ran out of allocated tyre sets.
He quickly slumped down the order, with Larson and Johnson attempting to chase Busch but failing to do so, having to settle for second and third.
Kurt Busch and Jamie McMurray were fourth and fifth, ahead of Kevin Harvick, with drivers struggling to overtake in the final 10 laps.
Chase Elliott was seventh, having qualified for an All-Star spot after winning the online fan vote, while Penske’s Keleslowski and Joey Logano were next up.
Denny Hamlin completed the top 10 and was last in the final stage, having suffered damage from a rubbing tyre.
