The organisers of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku have announced a star-studded line-up for its Formula 1 race weekend concerts, which will be free to access for all F1 ticket holders.

As the flag falls on qualifying on Saturday, Nicole Scherzinger – no stranger to F1 following her time as Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend before their split – will kick off the first of two concerts.

Scherzinger has sold over 37 million singles worldwide – 16 million records as a solo artist and a staggering 54 million albums as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls.

Six-time Grammy Award winners the Black Eyed Peas will then close the Saturday concert.

"It is hard to fully express just how delighted and honoured we are to welcome two of the most successful global music acts of all time to Baku," commented circuit boss Arif Rahimov.

"Both The Black Eyed Peas and Nicole Scherzinger have proven themselves time and again to belong to that very elite group of performers who transcend ordinary expectations of what an artist can and should be. Music and Formula 1 have always managed to fit together seamlessly with both industries committed to pushing creative boundaries."

The headline act for the race-day concert on Sunday will be none other than the 220 million record selling artist Mariah Carey – making her the best-selling female artist ever.

Rahimov added: "We are incredibly proud to welcome the most successful female music star in history to Baku to close out our second successive Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.

"Mariah Carey is the iconic voice of a generation whose songs are known intimately by millions of people across the world. To hear her perform her incredible range of hits here in Baku will be a true privilege and the perfect finale to what is shaping up to be the biggest and best F1 race weekend of the season."
