Ex-Renault Formula One driver Vitaly Petrov will contest the FIA World Endurance Championship with the Manor LMP2 squad in 2017.
The 32-year-old Russian is set to join Simon Trummer and Roberto Gonzalez in the #25 ORECA 07-Gibson.
Petrov competed in the WEC with SMP Racing last year, but the Russian outfit is sidelining its LMP2 programme to focus on the development of a new LMP1 car.
The deal means Petrov will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after finishing on the LMP2 podium last year.
"I'm pleased to announce that I will join the Manor for the 2017 FIA WEC," said Petrov.
"Also thanks to all my fans, who were eagerly awaiting my further participation in the championship. We are waiting for everything together for the first race of the season."
Petrov made 57 starts in Formula One between 2010 and 2012, driving for Renault and Caterham.
Following a season in the DTM he turned his attention to endurance racing, becoming a key member of SMP Racing's prototype division.
