Renault-backed youngster Jack Aitken clocked the quickest time on the second day of GP3’s first pre-season test at a wet/dry Estoril.
Wet weather affected proceedings on Thursday at the Portuguese venue but a dry spell enabled drivers to post representative times during the afternoon running.
Aitken, his best time a 1:28.125, ultimately led a 1-2-3 for ART, as the championship’s dominant team flexed its muscles once more, after George Russell headed a 1-2 on Wednesday.
Newly-recruited Mercedes junior driver Russell finished third, with the Britons split by Honda protégé Nirei Fukuzumi.
Trident’s Ferrari-affiliated youngster Giuliano Alesi was fourth best, 0.746 down on Aitken, in front of Arden duo Steijn Schothorst and Niko Kari, the latter backed by Red Bull.
Arjun Maini was seventh for Jenzer, ahead of Campos tester Marcos Siebert, leaving Arden’s Leonardi Pulcini and Jenzer’s Alessio Lorandi to round out the top 10.
