Formula 2 racer Sean Gelael will take part in three in-season Formula 1 tests in 2017 with the Toro Rosso team.
The Indonesian driver is currently preparing for his second full season in the F1 feeder category, driving for Arden.
Following sporadic appearances with Carlin in 2015, he raced for Campos in 2016 and placed 15th in the final standings.
He has now secured his first F1 outings with Toro Rosso and will make his debut at the Bahrain in-season test from the 18-19 April.
The 20-year-old will then return to the cockpit of the STR12 in Hungary just before F1 heads off on its summer break.
