Former Formula 1 driver Esteban Gutierrez will replace Ma Qing Hua at Techeetah for the remainder of the 2016/2017 Formula E season.
He will debut in the all-electric series at his home event, the Mexico City ePrix, on April 1 alongside Jean-Eric Vergne.
The Mexican takes over the second seat at Techeetah from Ma following a run of disappointing performances. Ma will remain at Techeetah as its third driver.
Gutierrez lost his F1 seat at Haas to Kevin Magnussen for the 2017 season and confirmed in January he was switching focus to Formula E.
“I’m very grateful to join Techeetah, a team with real competitiveness,” he said on the Formula E move.
“After four years of an incredible experience in F1, I’m now taking a step forward into the future of motorsports.
“I am especially excited about my debut race at the Mexico City ePrix. Hopefully I can put on a good show for the passionate home fans.”
