Italian driver Alessio Lorandi has been confirmed at Jenzer Motorsport for the upcoming GP3 season.
Lorandi competed for Carlin in the European Formula 3 Championship for the majority of 2016, picking up one win and one further podium finish, before switching to GP3 with Jenzer for the final two rounds of the year.
The 18-year-old also completed the end-of-year test in Abu Dhabi and has now signed with Jenzer for his first full season in GP3.
“Lining-up for the 2017 GP3 series is an huge step for my career and making it with Jenzer is definitely the best choice,” he said.
“In the last two rounds of the 2016 season it was a perfect fit and there is great chemistry with both Andreas Jenzer and his technical staff.
“In post-season testing we showed that we can compete with the best names of the series. This will be a challenging season in a very competitive environment.”
Elsewhere, Trident has formally confirmed that Ferrari-backed Giuliano Alesi will continue with the team for a second year, while it will hand test outings to Dorian Boccolacci and Ryan Tveter.
