Maximilian Günther and Harrison Newey, son of Red Bull Formula 1 technical boss Adrian, will both remain in the European Formula 3 series in 2017.
Günther – who is also a Mercedes DTM reserve driver – contested in his second season in European F3 last year, finishing runner-up with four wins and 13 podiums.
He remains at Prema Powerteam for his third year in the series, alongside team-mates Callum Ilott, Mick Schumacher and Guan Yu Zhou.
“It’s great to be part of the team again,” he said. “Last year it was our first together and we finished second in the championship so I’m really happy to go back on-track and go for the championship which is our goal.
“We worked really hard this winter to be in the best shape and I’m looking forward to the season.”
Meanwhile Newey has signed a new deal with Van Amersfoort Racing following a tough rookie season, scoring seven points finishes.
The British racer only competed in his first full racing season in 2015, finishing runner-up in BRDC Formula 4 while also racing with VAR in German F4.
He will now remain at VAR for a second season in European F3 and has his sights set on scoring podiums.
“As a racing driver you want to be able to perform at the highest level. Frits and his team has proven to be one of the best teams in Formula 3,” he said.
“The atmosphere at VAR has helped me a great deal to become a better racing driver. I have no doubt our partnership will lead to new highlights. My goal is to be on the podium as soon as possible.”
