French driver Anthoine Hubert has been confirmed as part of ART Grand Prix’s line-up for the 2017 GP3 season.
He joins Mercedes junior George Russell, recently-announced Renault young driver Jack Aitken and Honda protégé Nirei Fukuzumi at the team, completing its line-up in GP3.
Hubert tested for ART at the end of the 2016 GP3 season in Abu Dhabi following a year racing in European Formula 3.
Having won the French Formula 4 title in 2013, he went on to spend two seasons in Formula Renault 2.0 – picking up several wins in 2015.
Hubert then made the switch to European F3 last year, scoring one victory and two further podiums to finish eighth in the standings.
“I am really happy to join GP3 series with ART Grand Prix,” he said about the move into a new series.
“This is an excellent career opportunity because it is the most titled team of the championship.
“My ambition is to work on my integration into the team this winter in order to get the best out of the package and to be ready to take up the GP3 challenge in the first races of the year as well as fighting with the front-runners.”
