Dane Cameron led a Cadillac DPi V.R. 1-2-3 after the first hour of racing at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

Cameron (#31) dispatched João Barbosa in the sister #5 machine with an overtake at the Bus Stop chicane to take the early lead.

At the close of the opening hour, Cameron held a half-second advantage to Ricky Taylor, who jumped ahead of Barbosa during the first round of pit stops.

Barbosa momentarily got past Taylor with an overtake of his own at the Bus Stop, but Taylor repaid the favour at the same place shortly after.

Completing the top five were Neel Jani in the Rebellion Racing ORECA, and Brendon Hartley in the ESM Nissan-Onroak DPi.

The first hour of the 55th Rolex 24 was truncated by a brief full course caution within the opening 10 minutes.

Jerome Mul lost control of his Change Racing Lamborghini Huracan and pitched it into the infield tyre barrier, causing a six-minute stoppage. The team is yet to send the car back out on-track.

Elsewhere, an opening lap suspension failure for the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Ligier JSP217 signaled the first issue within the Prototype ranks.

In GT Le Mans, class pole-sitter Joey Hand maintained the #66 Ford's advantage into the second hour, with Toni Vilander pursuing on board the #62 Ferrari.

Prototype Challenge was headed up by James French behind the wheel of the Performance Tech ORECA, whilst Christina Nielsen led GT Daytona in the Scuderia Corsa Ferrari.
