Formula 1 in-season testing will take place at the Hungaroring this year, circuit officials have confirmed to Motorsport Week.
Since regulations were relaxed in 2014, in-season testing has taken place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after selected Grands Prix.
This has traditionally been held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, while Silverstone, the Red Bull Ring and Sakhir have all hosted in-season testing across the past three years.
For 2017, Sakhir will host the first test, rather than Barcelona, in order to assist Pirelli with warm weather tyre development, after the sport once more opted to hold both official pre-season sessions in Spain.
Silverstone was initially lined up to host the second in-season group test, as in 2016, but this has now been switched to the Hungaroring, on August 1/2, the final action before the sport’s summer break.
Circuit officials also confirmed that fans who buy tickets to this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix will be granted free access to the test days.
Formula 1 teams are permitted to run one car during in-season running, while two of the four days must be allocated to drivers who have started fewer than two Grands Prix.
