Former Formula 1 driver Jenson Button has tested a Honda Civic rallycross car at the Sebring circuit in the USA.

The 2009 F1 world champion tried out a Civic Supercar with Swedish team OlsbergsMSE in America on Wednesday.

Button is currently taking a break from Formula 1 but remains at McLaren as a reserve driver and ambassador.

He is considering his options for this year and has made no secret of his interest in competing in rallycross.

The test with Honda-backed OMSE wasn’t Button’s first time trying out rallycross machinery, with the British racer driving a JRM Racing Mini RX at Lydden Hill in 2015 as part of a BBC F1 TV feature.

Button shared a photo and video of his Honda rallycross test on Instagram, thanking the OMSE team for the opportunity.
