Repsol and Honda have extended their MotoGP sponsorship deal through to the end of the 2018 season, it has been announced.
Spanish energy company Repsol is currently a title sponsor of the Honda factory MotoGP squad, which currently fields 2016 champion Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.
Repsol and Honda’s partnership began back in 1995 and the two have claimed 12 riders’ titles together.
“We are delighted with the renewal of the agreement with our title sponsor Repsol through the end of 2018,” said Tetsuhiro Kuwata, Honda Racing Corporation racing manager.
“This year we celebrated together our 12th MotoGP world title in 22 years of collaboration, an amazing achievement in the history of the motorcycle World Championship.
“This record demonstrates the great value of this partnership which, in addition to including a great sponsorship agreement, has also benefitted us with crucial technological development.”
