Lewis Hamilton has pulled out of Pirelli's latest Formula 1 2017 tyre test due to feeling 'unwell', according to Mercedes.
The Briton got to sample Pirelli's newest development tyres on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, but after just a handful of laps, he was replaced by reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein, with Mercedes confirming the switch was due to Hamilton feeling unwell.
It follows Hamilton's decision to pull out of the previous tyre test in Barcelona in October due to a sore foot.
Wehrlein has completed the majority of running for Mercedes during the tests, although Nico Rosberg got to brieflty sample them earlier this year before rain brought the test to an early end.
The 2016 champion was unable to takeover driving duties today due to prior commitments in Malaysia with title sponsor Petronas.
The Abu Dhabi test is the first time Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have been in action together, with all three running modified test cars to simulate 2017 downforce levels.
