The rules and regulations for manufacturers racing in the LMP1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship will remain unchanged until the end of 2019.
The decision was made following a meeting in Bahrain of the Strategy Committee, which took place between representatives from Porsche and Toyota, the FIA and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest.
It was agreed that the current LMP1 hybrid technical rules and regulations will be frozen until the end of the 2019 WEC season.
There had been plans to incorporate new regulations for 2018, including a third hybrid system, a fifth hybrid subclass (10MJ) and other tweaks to things like seating position.
Changes have already been made about the number of team personnel, wind tunnel days, testing sessions available and number of aero packages in a bid to cut costs.
However, the rule freeze needs to be ratified by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, which has its next meeting in two weeks.
