Red Bull junior and GP2 championship contender Pierre Gasly completed 286 laps during a two-day 2017 Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi.
Development of Pirelli’s wider 2017 tyres has continued, with Gasly conducting testing for Red Bull once again. The test took place from the 2-3 November.
Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have been helping Pirelli with testing of the tyres, using modified versions of 2015 cars.
Running at the Yas Marina Circuit ran into the night, with Gasly managing 286 laps in total on an artificially wet track.
He completed running on both the intermediate and wet weather tyre compounds. It was the third and final wet tyre test in Pirelli’s development schedule.
Gasly tested slick tyres for Pirelli and Red Bull last month in Abu Dhabi, with running spread over three days.
Two more tests of the wider 2017 tyres will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit this month. The first will be with Ferrari, while the Italian team will be joined by Mercedes and Red Bull for the second.
