Loris Baz will attempt to return to the MotoGP series at the Aragon Grand Prix, if he passes a medical test at the track on Thursday.
The Avintia Racing rider suffered a crash at the start of the British Grand Prix, suffering fractures to the lower part of the tibia and astragalus in the ankle of his right leg.
He was forced to miss the Misano MotoGP race and was replaced by Xavi Fores, but will start practice at the Motorland Aragon circuit before assessing his condition.
“I'm not quite at the maximum and the foot stills hurts quite a lot, but I think I can get on the bike – and my doctors and physiotherapist who are treating me agree,” he explained.
“On Thursday I'll pass a medical at the track and then head out on track on Friday and see how I am.
“Since the crash I've been working with the physic and doing a lot of exercise in the pool to increase mobility. It's getting better bit by bit, but we'll have to see how it is on the bike.
“I'm going to Aragon with the intention of having a good weekend, trying to score points if possible, but mainly to get a good feeling back so I can head into the triple-header on good form.”
