Lewis Hamilton says the Singapore Grand Prix hasn't been his "weekend so far" after he qualified third, seven-tenths adrift of Mercedes team-mate and pole sitter Nico Rosberg.
The Briton has looked off the pace all weekend and encountered a couple of issues during practice which meant he was unable to complete a race simulation, however he doesn't believe that will impact his race on Sunday.
"Not really a frustrating session – but not my weekend so far, not got many good laps out there and not able to string them together," Hamilton said after qualifying.
"Nico did a great job and showed the true potential of the car, and at least tomorrow I will try to get one step ahead and get that front row for the team."
When asked if Mercedes' long-run pace looked strong, considering the challenge both Red Bull and Ferrari pose in race trim, he said: "I’ve not really looked at the long runs to be honest. Obviously I didn’t get to do long runs yesterday, so I’m not quite sure.
"I think Nico did some running; our cars are set up a little bit different. I don’t think we’re in a bad position but I’ll find out tomorrow for the first time."
