MotoGP will continue to visit the Sachsenring, which has regularly hosted the German round of the championship since 1998, after securing an extension to its hosting deal through 2021.
Race organisers agreed a new five-year deal which was concluded this week and will see the circuit, which will celebrate it's 20th anniversary next year, remain on the calendar for the foreseeable future.
ADAC sport president Hermann Tomczyk hailed the deal: "The Sachsenring is certainly the most ideal venue for a German motorcycle grand prix. I am therefore very pleased that it will now be hosting a world championship race for the next years. The event has been a huge success ever since 1998."
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of series rights holders Dorna Sports added: "The German Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sachsenring is a spectacular event with great fans and is an important fixture on the MotoGP calendar.
"We welcome the announcement that the German Motorcycle Grand Prix will continue to take place at the Sachsenring in the coming years."
