MotoGP will use a modified version of the Red Bull Ring's Turn 10 following safety concerns raised during a private test at the circuit last month.
MotoGP will return to Austria for the first time since 1997 this year, with series organisers hosting a private test at the circuit to understand the layout.
Following a discussion between FIM safety officer Franco Uncini and riders of the safety commission, it was decided that the final corner, known as Red Bull Mobile, should be tweaked to reduce exit speed.
The width of the circuit has therefore been reduced from 13 to 10 metres around the corner with the addition of new kerbs, expanding the run-off as well.
Due to this change, the times set during the private test are likely to be quicker than those posted this weekend. Ducati's Andrea Iannone was quickest during the test, setting a best time of 1m23.240.
