Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo has been voted Driver of the Day by Formula 1 fans for the German Grand Prix.
It is the Australian driver’s first time winning the award and the sixth time a Red Bull driver has claimed it.
Max Verstappen has won it four times, with Daniil Kvyat being named Driver of the Day for the Chinese GP before his move to Toro Rosso.
Ricciardo finished the German race at the Hockenheimring in second place, having started behind the Mercedes duo in third.
He initially dropped behind Verstappen at the start but moved ahead of Rosberg, retaining third early on and using a different strategy to move up to the runner-up spot.
He picked up the most votes from fans after the race, with winner Lewis Hamilton and Verstappen – who finished third – just missing out.
Seven different drivers have picked up the Driver of the Day award in 12 races.
