Russian Time's Artem Markelov and MP Motorsport's Daniel de Jong will start Sunday's GP2 sprint race from the pitlane after causing collisions during Saturday's feature race.
Markelov hit the back of Jordan King's Racing Engineering car at the Turn 6 hairpin early in the race, causing his own retirement, and damage to King's car. King would eventually go on to finish 16th after contact with Luca Ghiotto gave him a puncture.
Again at Turn 6, Daniel de Jong attempted to pass Arthur Pic, but mis-judged his braking, and sailed right past Pic into the side of Sean Gelael, eliminating both cars on the spot, and bringing out the Virtual Safety Car.
Both drivers were issued with a five-place grid penalty for the incidents. However, with grid positions for the sprint race determined by feature race finishing positions, and neither driver having finished the race, both will start from the pitlane.
