Nico Rosberg will keep his pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix after race stewards deemed he slowed sufficiently for the double-waved yellow flags.
The Mercedes driver was called to the stewards' office three hours after qualifying when an investigation was launched to determine whether or not Rosberg slowed for the yellow flags during the last minute of Q3.
Rosberg claimed after the session that he had lifted off the throttle, despite setting the quickest sector time.
"There were double-waved yellows, but I had a very, very big lift," he said. "I lost a lot of time as a result, so I am sure it will be okay."
Appendix H of the International Sporting Code says a driver must "reduce speed significantly, do not overtake, and be prepared to change direction or stop," when double-waved yellow flags are shown.
No further action will be taken as, according to the stewards, "the telemetry demonstrated that the driver reduced speed significantly into Turn 8."
Rosberg will line up ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton on the grid for Sunday's race.
