Lewis Hamilton says he had the British Grand Prix under control and was never worried about the threat posed by team-mate Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Max Verstappen behind.
Hamilton took a lights to flag victory, only conceding the lead briefly during his first stop, finishing seven seconds ahead of Rosberg.
The Briton insists he had plenty of pace in hand should he need it, but never felt his lead was under threat during the race.
"We knew they'd [Red Bull] be fast. In practice we don't know what fuel loads they were on and if everyone is showing their hand, but definitely today, I was never under threat from either of the guys behind, pace wise," he told reporters including Grand Prix Times.
"What you'll see is those laps, I don't need to do more. I had a gap of six seconds so there's no need to do more or less. So every time they post a quick time, I'll hear about it and I'll turn it up a little bit or turn it down. If I need to turn it up, I have more in terms of pace."
When asked about the greater threat Red Bull in particular now pose, with Max Verstappen leading Rosberg for much of the race, he added: "They [Red Bull] drove a fantastic race, Max drove a fantastic race. He's continuing to show he's a force to be reckoned with."
