Renault e.Dams drivers Nicolas Prost and Sebastien Buemi set the pace in the two practice sessions for the first Formula E race at Battersea Park.
Prost led the way after the 45-minute opening session with a 1m25.399, finishing three tenths clear of Loic Duval, who was announced at Dragon Racing for a second season on Thursday.
Buemi and the Abt duo of Daniel Abt and championship leader Lucas di Grassi were next up. Nelson Piquet Jr. and Oliver Turvey showed encouraging speed for NEXTEV in sixth and seventh.
Sam Bird, Mike Conway and Stephane Sarrazin rounded out the top 10. It was a disrupted session, with the red flags emerging after Robin Frijns crashed at the final corner at the halfway mark.
Buemi, who is one point behind di Grassi in the championship fight, moved to the front in second practice.
Timed tumbled in the 30-minute session, with Buemi emerging ahead with a 1m23.171. He demoted Abt to second late on, with Prost third.
Duval, di Grassi and Jean-Eric Vergne were next up. Piquet, Sarrazin, Turvey and Mahindra’s Bruno Senna completed the top 10.
Several drivers brushed the barriers in the session, including Bird and d’Ambrosio, who picked up minor damage to their cars. Piquet also tapped the wall after an early off-track excursion.
