Daniil Kvyat has been awarded the F1 Driver of the Day award after finishing in third place at last weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix.
The fans voted after the race for their driver of the day picks, with Kvyat receiving the most number of votes to halt Romain Grosjean’s run of success.
The Haas F1 driver won the Driver of the Day award in both Australia and Malaysia, but Kvyat impressed fans with his strong drive to third place.
An aggressive start saw him move up several places, despite Kimi Raikkonen colliding with him at Turn 1 after being spun around by Ferrari team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
The four-time world champion blamed Kvyat for the incident, describing the move as a "torpedo" when Kvyat dived up the inside. He enjoyed some good battles and proved the strong pace of the RB12 to finish on the podium.
He lost a place to Vettel in the closing stages but came home in third place, picking up his second ever top three finish in F1, having debuted on the podium at the Hungarian Grand Prix last year.
The F1 Driver of the Day award was brought in for the 2016 season to increase fan engagement in the series.
