The NEXTEV TCR Formula E team has confirmed that Ben Hanley will replace Oliver Turvey for the Berlin ePrix round.
Turvey is unable to compete in the all-electric single-seater series in Germany as it clashes with the Autopolis Super GT Championship race.
Hanley has been announced as Turvey’s stand-in. The British racer enjoyed success in karting before racing in Formula Renault, finishing second in the 3.5 standings in 2007.
He was previously a member of the Renault young driver programme and made 14 GP2 appearances in 2008. This season he will race in LMP2 in the European Le Mans Series.
"I am delighted to be joining NEXTEV TCR for the Berlin round of the 2015/16 Formula E Championship," he said.
"Formula E has grown to be one of the most exciting racing Championships, and I’m looking forward to racing against some of the best drivers in the world.
"The technology in Formula E is very different to any other racing series, so it will be a challenge to get to grips with a very unique type of car, but I will be giving it my all."
Martin Leach, NEXTEV president, added: "Ben has an impressive race history in both karting and single-seaters and we are confident that he is the perfect driver to fill in for Oliver."
