Koiranen GP has announced Mahaveer Raghunathan will race alongside Matthew Parry and Matevos Isaakyan in the GP3 series in 2016.
The Indian driver previously competed in the MRF Challenge, Formula Masters China and Italian Formula 4, as well as appearances in Formula Renault 2.0 Alps and EuroFormula Open in 2015.
He competed in 26 FIA European Formula 3 Championship races last year, with a best finish of 20th place for the Motopark team.
The 17-year-old now moves up to the GP3 series with Koiranen GP and will sample the brand new car for the second time at the opening Estoril test at the end of March, following the recent shakedown in France.
"I am extremely excited to drive with Koiranen GP this year in GP3," Raghunathan said on the news.
"Koiranen GP is a very strong team with good results in the series and I hope to learn a lot from their experience and give my best performance in my rookie year."
The Finnish team enjoyed a largely positive 2015 season, finishing fourth in the championship with one win and five further podiums.
